The cover, pipeline, hull and car body of some common power machinery are mostly made of thin metal plates, which can radiate strong noise after being stimulated. This kind of noise caused by the vibration of metal sheet structure is called structural noise. There are generally three ways to control structural noise: the first is to reduce the excitation force; 


 the second is to stagger the natural frequency and excitation force frequency of the structure by modifying the parameters of the structure; the third is to increase the damping of the system to suppress structural vibration and reduce noise. This measure is called damping vibration reduction. Comparatively speaking, in most engineering practices, damping technology is the most economical, simplest and effective method among the three schemes.
